BWI on the passing of Ram Nagina Pandey

BWI is saddened over the passing of Ram Nagina Pandey, General Secretary of the Eastern Railway Construction and Contractor Mazdoor Union (ERCCMU) on the evening of 20 August in Kolkata, West Bengal, India due to cardiac arrest. He was not well for quite some time and was even hospitalised. 

Ram was a respected trade unionist who had a long track record of standing up for workers’ and community rights both in the national and state levels. 

BWI and the Indian Affiliates Council extend our heartfelt condolences to Ram’s family and fellow union members. With his passing, the Indian workers lost a consistent and dependable voice. We will honour him by continuing the fight for workers’ and community rights.
