Last week, 30 trade union representatives and worker representatives from all over Europe gathered in Dublin and discussed the status of social dialogue in Irish Construction Materials and Cement MNC CRH at a meeting hosted by SIPTU.
According to the EFBWW, this was the “first time, trade unions took the time to discuss the situation at CRH: European Works Council (at CRH called “Euroforum“), trade union network, communication among works councils and affected trade unions came together in order to improve the situation in this Irish company that has become one of the top players in cement and construction materials industries.”
The participants developed, discussed and adopted a joint statement (see attached in English, French, Polish, Romanian, Dutch, German) in order to streamline their proposals and demands towards CRH management and future activities in the network. They also installed a steering committee for the trade union network, which will coordinate these activities and also keep the relation with the non-European trade unions and BWI.
