European Regional Youth Committee elects its Members and Chair
The BWI European Regional Youth Assembly was held on 10-14 April 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden hosted by BWI Swedish affiliates. The youth delegates representing twenty unions from fifteen countries throughout Europe elected six members of the regional committee. 13 April: Today the Korean Construction Workers’ Union (KCWU) affiliated to the Korean Federation of Construction Industry Trade Unions (KFCITU) held a rally demanding the government guarantee construction workers basic labor rights in front of Namdaemun on April 13th. Then they marched to join more than 20,000 at the main rally organized by its national center, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU). The key demands of the main rally included ratify ILO core convention including conventions 87 and 98; amend Article 2 of the Labour Union Act; and guarantee specially-employed workers such as self-employed, contractor, and “misclassified” workers basic labor rights.”Lee mas...
