Le Conseil des Syndicats Mondiaux (CSM) se félicite de l'adoption par le Parlement européen (PE) de la résolution sur la situation aux Philippines, y compris le cas de Maria Ressa. For more than 20 days people in Belarus have been protesting massive electoral fraud. Peaceful protestors have endured violence and repression and many have been arrested. Avec l'aide de l’IBB, le Syndicat national de la construction et des services du Guatemala (SINCS-G) a pu fournir de la nourriture et une assistance médicale à 50 des familles de travailleurs les plus vulnérables dont il s'occupe. Le syndicat a déclaré que son aide a permis de toucher 250 personnes, dont des femmes, des enfants, des jeunes et des personnes âgées. Every 10th of December is International Human Rights Day. It was established by the United Nations to mark and celebrate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted in 1948. In 2019, the Building and Wood Workers’ International is joining with other Global Unions in a Day of Action to focus on human rights violations in the Philippines and to support those who struggle, often in desperate circumstances, for basic freedoms and democracy. We have urged BWI member organisations to join with other trade unionists and supporters of human rights to demonstrate to the Government of the Philippines that their violations of human rights are global concerns and to show those who courageously resist oppression that they are not alone.Lire la suite...
