Svensson international prize now accepts nominations
The Arthur Svensson International Prize for Trade Union Rights is now accepting nominations for outstanding individuals and organizations who have made extraordinary contributions to the promotion of trade union rights and organising around the world. Nominations will be accepted until January 1, 2024.
Since 2010, the Svensson prize has been awarded to a wide range of extraordinary individuals and organizations, including leaders and activists from the teachers' union in Bahrain, the miners' union in Mexico, the textile workers in Cambodia, the health workers in Liberia, the independent trade unions in Belarus and Kazakhstan, and many others. This year, the Svensson award was given to Elizabeth Tang, General Secretary of the International Domestic Workers Federation.
The prize amount is NOK 500,000 ( EUR/USD 47.500). NOK 250,000 goes directly to the prize winner and an equal amount will be spent on projects related to the prize winner.
