Video: BWI solidarity message to protesting South Korean workers

The 12 million-strong Building and Wood Workers’ International’s (BWI), through its General Secretary Ambet Yuson, sends its solidarity and support to the Korean Federation of Construction Industry Trade Unions (KFCITU) and its affiliate, the Korean Construction Workers’ Union (KCWU) as they hold a massive demonstration against their government’s assault on trade union rights.

BWI strongly condemns the South Korean government and the Ministry of Labour and Fair-Trade Commission’s years long persecution of KFCITU and KCWU. It is shameful that they are weaponising national laws to criminalise union activities that are clearly protected by the country’s constitution and various ILO Conventions.
