Coinciding with the celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day, the Turkish Cement Workers’ Union (CIMSE-IS) held its 7th women leadership training in Alanya, Turkey. Lesia is also a member of the BWI European Regional Women’s Committee where she represents women from Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland. Lesia is leading the campaign in Central Asia and Eastern Europe for the ratification of the ILO Convention 190.

120 Indonesian construction workers have gone on strike to protest a wide range of workers’ rights violations, including workplace discrimination, unlawful wages, non-payment of overtime, labour contractualisation, poor health and safety practices and illegal layoffs.
